BEHIND THE SCENES WITH MODEL AND FASHION INFLUENCER CHERISE FREEMAN
How has your year been going? Have you had any good opportunities to travel?
Cherise: My year so far has been incredible. I currently have tropical trips booked each month until summer and I’m planning on exploring Europe after I graduate University in April! I’m hoping to move to a new city once my school is over so I’m deciding whether I move down to California or spend the year travelling the world.
What has been your most memorable photoshoot that you have been in this year?
Cherise: My most memorable photoshoot that I’ve been in this year is with one of my favourite bikini companies of all time (can’t say the name yet.. but you guys will find out soon) I am honoured to have the opportunity to work with a such a lovely team and company, and be able to create art for the world to see.
Who has been your biggest inspiration for you as a fashion model and influencer?
Cherise: My biggest inspiration within the fashion industry at the moment is Coca Rocha. Not only does she captivate the camera through her eccentric and unique posing, but her personality shines through on camera, which I admire. Asides from her legacy as a model, Coca is expanding her talents within the entrepreneurial space and is creating an empire by using her connections and talent to build sustainable businesses. Coca is teaching young models the in and outs of the industry and is also pushing individuals to use their full potential in everything they do. I hope to one day take a class at the Coca Rocha boot camp.
What is something that people can do off camera to get ready for being on camera?
Cherise: One of the best things that someone can do off camera in preparation for being on camera is maintaining a healthy mental and physical state. For me personally, I need my full 8 hours of sleep and to eat proper nutrient-rich foods before a shoot in order to keep my energy high. I like to read and meditate to help with nerves prior to shooting and I always spend time practicing poses in the mirror to constantly better the craft.
What message can you share with someone that can help them have successes like you?
Cherise: Believe in yourself like you are the only thing that matters. It is so important to be your own biggest fan, as even the closest people to you might not support your hopes and dreams. Dream. Write down your goals. Celebrate your successes. Be thankful for failures. Remind yourself why you do the things you’re doing. Surround yourself around success-driven circles. You have all the power in the world to live your dream life if you start to truly believe in yourself. The world is yours and successes will become a reality when you embrace the inner power you hold and believe that you are worthy of your dream life.
