GETTING TO KNOW FASHION MODEL WENZDAI TOSCA

How did you get started in the modeling industry?

Wenzdai: When I was 9 years old, I walked as a kid's model in a Nordstrom fashion show. I walked in another when I was 12 or 13. My mom has always had a passion for fashion and her closet was always something I aspired to inherit. It wasn't until I worked for Victoria's Secret and gravitated heavily to the VS Swim Collection. Posting all my favorite bikinis on my social media grew my following and the rest is history.

What are some of your favorite types of projects to work on?

Wenzdai: I enjoy working with brands who have a purpose or calling beyond sales goals. Brands that are inclusive, with great energy always encourage me to put my best foot forward as I represent them. Swimwear is my lane, but any project where my ability to remain confident and cheerful on a project inspires me.

What is your favorite brand? What do you like most about them?

Wenzdai: I love Good American! I love what they stand for. I love their process to think of how they can touch and inspire "unfamiliar" faces in the industry. They pioneered the size inclusive movement for many young brands and I would love to work with them one day!

What advice do you have for people looking to get more out of social media?

Wenzdai: Engage with your audience! Too often I see people with tons of comments and not replying. Even taking a couple minutes a day to respond to the people who like, comment and ultimately appreciate the work you put out there goes a long way. They become supporters for life and will share your content.
