GETTING TO KNOW FASHION MODEL CHERISE FREEMAN
How did you get started in the modeling industry?
Cherise: My initial spark in the fashion industry started during the Covid-19 pandemic as my school went online and I finally had the time to chase after my dreams of becoming a model. I moved from Kelowna, BC to Calgary, Alberta and started to get noticed by various local modelling agencies where I began the process of meeting with agencies to decide which would be the best fit.
Once I signed to my first agency, my first photoshoot was picked up by Malvie Magazine and I began receiving international contracts from across the world and started my modelling career being placed in Mexico. Since launching my international career, I’ve shot many fashion campaigns, ecommerce, commercials, music videos, magazines, and recently have began my journey in the film industry!
What is your favorite brand? What do you like most about them?
Cherise: My favorite brands are Chanel or Yves Saint Laurent. I love these designers as they are timeless, classy, and have unique pieces which create a staple, high fashion wardrobe.
What is your favorite way to spend a day off?
Cherise: When I have a day off, I am often working on my university classes and spending time with my friends and family, cooking dinners and exploring natures natural beauty. I also love to do digital art and paint!
What are some locations on your bucket list to travel to, and why?
Cherise: My dream location to travel to is Italy or Greece. Every photo I have seen of these locations have left me in awe and the food looks unreal.
What is some advice that you have for people looking to get more out of social media?
Cherise: My best advice for anyone pursuing social media is to stay authentic and have fun with the creative process! It takes time to grow your social network so be patient and stay consistent. Follow and support other creators that align with your values and take the time to study your audience and make sure the content you put out correlates with the personal branding you hope to achieve (whether it’s fashion, lifestyle, branding etc). Don’t be afraid to let your personality shine through and enjoy the process:)
