GETTING TO KNOW FASHION MODEL JEFF VIOLETTE

How did you get started in the modeling industry?

Jeff: A single Instagram post sprung me into this industry. In April of 2020, I was home…bored like a lot of people were, and I took a photo of myself in my bedroom and posted it on Instagram to all of my 200 followers. A few days later, I received a message from a very established photographer in New York, asking if I would be interested in a photoshoot.

I actually said no at first, but then after some persuasion from friends, I decided to take him up on his offer. That ended up leading to more shoots and eventually, I took the leap to move across the country to Los Angeles and work as a model full time.

What are some locations on your bucket list to travel to, and why?

Jeff: I’m a beach bum at heart. I grew up on the coast of Connecticut, and now in SoCal I live less than 2 blocks from the water, so tropical locations are on my list. I’d love to go to Ibiza, Fiji, and the Maldives. From everything I’ve heard about Ibiza, it’s just one of those places you have to experience. And as for Fiji and the Maldives, I could jump right into the photos I’ve seen, and I mean, do you even need a real reason to visit the Maldives?

What is some advice that you have for people looking to get more out of social media?

Jeff: First off, be authentic and make sure what you are posting is “you” and what you want to post. Don’t post for likes. Post things you want to post and the rest will come. People can feel if you are being authentic. With that being said, post good quality photos. Use good lighting, and use the tools instagram has to help enhance the photos. It can go a long way to making your account look very professional.

What are some events coming up that you are looking for to?

Jeff: I’ve been so fortunate since moving to Los Angeles, and I’ve gotten the chance to attend so many incredible events put on by amazing people, and have made some life long connections. I’ve been to everything from restaurant openings, all kinds of celebrations, art exhibits, fashion shows, and much more. For me personally, they usually come up fairly last minute, and it makes it that much more exciting. Right now, I have an event in a few weeks I’ll be attending which is an art and music exhibit in Glendale. I love seeing talented people get to share what they are passionate about doing.
